Catch a Brainrot glossary
Catch a Brainrot is Indieun's turn-based creature-collecting RPG on Roblox, released 2026-07-10, and it stacks a lot of its own vocabulary into the first hour: you pick a starter in the Rot Lab, weaken wild Brainrots in a Charge battle, throw a Capture Box, and watch each catch register in your Brain Index. This glossary defines the 15 terms you meet across World One during launch week, from Tong Coins to rarity glow, so a new trainer chasing all 36 Brainrots knows exactly what every menu, bar, and reward actually does.
- Brainrot
- The collectible creatures at the center of the game, 36 in total across four rarities, from Common Penguino Cocosino up to Epic Chicleteira Bicicleteira. That 36-strong roster beats the strongest competitor tracker, which indexes about 29.
- Brain Index
- Your personal catalog of every Brainrot you have captured, and the game's version of a Pokedex. Registering a new species here grants Index XP, which unlocks the better capture boxes sold in the shop.
- Charge battle
- The turn-based combat system where your skills stay grayed out until a Charge bar fills, then become usable. Confirmed skills include Splash and Shield, with Firework and Whirlpool also reported by launch-week players.
- Charge bar
- The meter that gates your moves inside a Charge battle. Skills like Splash and Shield gray out and only light up once the bar refills, so pacing and timing matter more than spamming attacks each turn.
- Capture box
- The throwable item you use to catch a wild Brainrot once its HP is low. The ladder runs from the early Wooden or Rot Box for Commons up through Golden Boxes tuned for higher rarities.
- Golden Box
- The upgraded capture box tier bought with Tong Coins and gated by Index XP. Level 9 catches Uncommon Brainrots, Level 15 handles Rare, and Level 22 is built for Epic targets like Lirili Larila.
- Tong Coins
- The primary currency, earned as passive income from your party and by selling captured or duplicate Brainrots for roughly 5x their defeat value. Reinvest coins into upgraded Golden Boxes to climb the rarity ladder.
- Rarity glow
- The visual cue that tells you a wild Brainrot's rarity before you engage. Common has no glow, Uncommon shows a green pulse, Rare shows a blue pulse, and Epic sits at the top tier.
- Rarity
- The game's real four-band classification of Brainrots: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. There is no type-effectiveness or element system here, so rarity and HP management drive your capture strategy, not a type chart.
- Starter
- The first Brainrot you choose from three options in the Rot Lab: Triple T Sahur, the balanced lowest-risk default, plus Fluri Flura and Boneca Ambalabu. Your pick is locked to your save permanently. See the starter guide.
- Rot Lab
- The opening area where every new save begins, and where you select 1 of 3 starters before stepping into World One. It functions as the game's tutorial hub and the origin point for your Brain Index.
- World One
- The starting zone available at launch, where you explore and battle wild Brainrots. Community trackers list a Grass Zone and an Ice Zone during launch week at medium confidence, alongside a Brain Rot Center healing hub.
- Index XP
- Experience earned specifically by registering new species in your Brain Index. Accumulating Index XP unlocks the shop's stronger capture boxes, tying your collection progress directly to your ability to catch rarer Brainrots.
- Party
- The active group of Brainrots you carry, which generates passive Tong Coin income over time. A healthy party both funds Golden Box upgrades and gives you battlers for Charge battles against wild encounters.
- Wild
- A Brainrot encountered roaming World One rather than one you already own. You weaken a wild Brainrot's HP in a Charge battle, then throw a Capture Box to catch it or defeat it for a smaller Tong Coin payout.
- Brain Rot Center
- The healing hub where you restore your party between expeditions, comparable to a Pokemon Center. Returning here keeps your battlers ready for tougher wild encounters as you push toward Rare and Epic captures.
